Dear Friends:

The time of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5, with the Imposition of Ashes at 12 noon and 7:00 pm. The noon liturgy will be preceded with a soup and bread lunch at 11 am. On the succeeding Wednesdays we will meet at 7:00 for Holden Evening Prayer, and some outstanding preachers. The theme this year will be…

The Healing of the Nations

This year as we travel together on these Lenten Wednesday evenings we will focus on healing – specifically the healing of estrangement, the healing of fear, the healing of despair, the healing of sin, and finally, the healing of the nations. Our overarching theme will be this passage from the Book of Revelation:

Then the angel showed me the river of life, bright as crystal,

flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb…

On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit…

And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

(22:1, 2)
